Hotel 'Villa Caterina' was created in the first half of the last century as lodging house on the initiative of Domenica and Mario Cacopardo, who wished to make the best of their own house for its superb position and the extraordinary beauty of their garden, in order to host whoever longed to enjoy the clear transparency of Taormina’s sea.

In the sixties, due to the arrival of several tourists charmed by the splendour of the site, the lodging house was converted into a family-run board and lodging inn, by the actual owners, the grandson Mario Cacopardo and his wife Maria, who founded, in those years, the actual Hotel 'Villa Caterina'.
